Ambleside Nursing Home has been operating for well over 25 years, providing nursing care to residents across South West England, with well-grounded community links including voluntary organisations. We are registered for 20 residents and admit elderly people requiring care for a range of specialist care including End of Life Care.
Our Home is located in the picturesque seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare, approximately 20 miles from Bristol. The town has both rail links and motorway connections from major cities.
We are a small home with agility and flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of our residents, proven track record of delivering range of elderly care, staff are able to build relationship easily with residents and familiarise with the care needs of every individual.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our Home operates an open visiting policy to ensure that residents, relatives and friends can visit at the times that are most convenient for them. However, if they want to visit after 8 pm, you will need to use your own discretion and ensure that other residents are not disturbed.
Residents can have their own GPs, however, the majority of the residents at the Home are registered with the local GP as this enables frequent visits by a designated general practitioner – this is considered to be more beneficial for the residents.
The home have a dedicated chef to prepare fresh meals and offer a well-balanced diet that is tailored to each of our residents’ needs. Menus offer a variety of healthy foods for residents to enjoy, as well as home-made cakes for afternoon tea time.
The kitchen team are made aware of the likes, dislikes, portion sizes, nutritional requirements of individual residents. There is constant communication between the nursing and kitchen staff.
If required, advice is obtained from the GP or other relevant health professionals as to alternative supplements, texture of food or food types for any particular resident.
